Welcome to Sentient Space

About
Jenée Godson, MBACP
I’m a Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working with adults aged 18 and over.

I have experience providing counselling and therapy with Mind, supporting people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and identities. Over the years, I’ve worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, family difficulties, abuse, and issues relating to race and identity, among others.

My work is rooted in a psychodynamic approach, which explores how our early experiences and relationships shape the way we see ourselves and the world today—both consciously and unconsciously.
This doesn’t mean a one-size-fits-all way of working. For those from marginalised or underrepresented backgrounds, experiences are often more layered and complex. I hold this awareness at the heart of my practice, offering a space where your individual story and identity can be understood in context.
Therapy offers the opportunity to explore whatever feels difficult—whether that’s something from your past that remains unresolved, or challenges in your present life. I see therapy as a collaborative process, one built on trust, honesty, and curiosity. Together, we’ll work to make sense of your experiences and find new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Therapy can sometimes bring up strong or painful emotions. At Sentient Space, I aim to provide a calm, reflective environment where these experiences can be explored safely, with empathy and supportive understanding.
My intention is to help you move towards greater clarity, self-awareness, and emotional freedom—developing new patterns and ways of being that feel more aligned with who you are.

Whether you’re facing a specific difficulty or a more general sense that something isn’t quite right, you’re welcome to get in touch.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can discuss what brings you to therapy and how we might work together.
